How does it work if dog is taking steriods?
Just found out why it has been so difficult to find any food that my dog will eat after this powder is mixed in.
This is the most godawful taste I have ever experienced.
Will discuss with my vet in the morning.
We haven’t found “ANYTHING” to mix it with that we can get it into our shepherd … including tuna. I tried mixing it with water and squirting it into her mouth and with cottage cheese. The ‘ol put it in their mouth – hold it closed – and rub the throat theory doesn’t work with my girl! She waits and spits it out the side of her mouth first chance.
How come all my vets I have taken my 10 pound dog to won’t tell me the mgs on the Tylan pills
Why can’t the powder be made to taste good?
You can have it compounded it into a pill. you just have to find a compounding pharmacy In your area it’s not one will ship it to you from pretty much anywhere. There is a veterinary compound in pharmacy in Corona California. That’s where I got mine and it’s not that expensive surprisingly.
Would like to know if it is advisable to administer Tylan powder in pill pockets. Dosage is 1/8 teaspoon.
As an FYI you can have Tylan powder compounded into a pill at a compounding pharmacy. I got mine from Valley drug and compounding 818-788-0635 in Corona California and it’s not that expensive.
Mine didn’t like taste/smell either. Dose is 1/16th of teaspoon. I put 2 small shakes of powdered sugar (from a screened powered sugar shaker) in bowl then medication then mix with her warm wet food. The little bit of sugar takes the bitterness away.
